Ion Exchange Softener Resin

High-capacity, spherical gel-type cation exchange resin beads designed specifically for the removal of calcium and magnesium ions (hardness) from water supplies.

Value Proposition

Transforms “hard” water into “soft” water, preventing scale buildup in expensive machinery, boilers, and It significantly reduces detergent consumption, prevents “spotting” on surfaces, and extends the operational life of heating elements and cooling systems.

Applications

  • Commercial

    • Laundries

    • Hotels

  • Industrial

    • Pre-treatment for RO plants

    • Boiler feed water

    • Cooling towers, and Textile processing.

Technical Specifications

  • Type: Strong Acid Cation (SAC) Resin
  • Ionic Form: Sodium  form as standard

Process Description

The system works through a process called Ion Exchange. As hard water flows through the resin bed, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water are attracted to the resin beads and “stick” to them. In exchange, the resin releases harmless sodium ions into the water. Once the beads are saturated with hardness, the system performs a Regeneration Cycle: a concentrated salt solution (brine) is flushed through the tank, which knocks the calcium/magnesium off the beads and flushes them to the drain, “recharging” the resin with fresh sodium for the next cycle
